Biennial Symposium / Meetings

Next: ELGRA Symposium: 6-9 Sept. 2011, Antwerp Belgium.

Venue of the Symposium in 2011 is the University of Antwerp. The ELGRA Symposium is intended as a forum for scientific and technical research in microgravity. Abstracts in the fields of life and physical sciences, material sciences, fluid physics, cell, animal, plant and human physiology as well as biotechnology are welcome.
Beside the general subjects mentioned above we want to elaborate more on the next topics:

- Living under extreme conditions
- Life support systems in space
- Counter-measures/artificial gravity
- Exploration issues
- Soft matter mechanics of living cells
- Plasma and dust
- On-ground microgravity simulations and hypergravity research
- European - Chinese relations and projects
- Commercial Microgravity Platforms

• 2010 Triest / Italy. combined meeting with the the International Society for Gravitational Physiology (ISGP), the European Space Agency (ESA) and the European Low Gravity Research Organization (ELGRA).
• 2009 Bonn, Germany: ELGRA Symposium: "In the Footsteps of Columbus" 1-4 Sept. 2009.
• 2008 Anger / France. combined meeting with the American Society for Gravitational and Space Biology (ASGSB), the International Society for Gravitational Physiology (ISGP), the European Space Agency (ESA) and the European Low Gravity Research Organization (ELGRA).
