Frequently Asked Questions
We will continue to update this part with any frequently asked questions.
Q. I have submitted a paper to the previous call for abstracts that closed on Feb 29th. Do I also need to submit a paper to the call for talks?
A. No. For the previous call for abstracts, all of these we received are being reviewed by the organising committee and all authors of that call will be notified of acceptance by April 11th.
Q. What is the difference between your call for abstracts and your call for talks?
A. Championing space related research is at the very core of our mission at ELGRA. We recognise that the language abstract might be more familiar and/or applicable to parts of the R&D community than others. As we want to encourage a breadth of participation in the conference from both space and non-space sectors, as well as across different organisations (from industry to academic, agency’s to ecosystem partners) we have designed for this year a separate call for talks. To be clear you can still submit standard scientific talks to this call.

Fostering inclusion is essential for a high-performing research and innovation (R&I) system.
ELGRA is a nonprofit international society of multidisciplinary character devoted to the promotion of European research in microgravity, simulated microgravity and hypergravity conditions and is a platform for all scientists interested in life and physical sciences. As a convenor, champion and funder of research and innovation we have a responsibility to ensure the health of this system as a whole, now and in the future. For this we need a diversity of people and ideas to achieve this.
ELGRA believes that everyone has a right to be treated with dignity and respect, and to be provided with equal opportunities to flourish and succeed in an environment which enables them to do so. All events and conferences organised by or with ELGRA should aim to provide such an inclusive and safe environment for all attending and fulfil the mission of promoting, growing and championing an inclusive research and innovation environment.
In creating our flagship biennial conference, we work with our members and aligned organisations to encourage open participation and engagement with the conference through an open call for talks, suggestions for panels and activities and combining our general assembly with the conference so that all participants can share in the continued evolution of ELGRA while enjoying the conference. We actively champion early career participation in the conference, including through the provision of travel grants at each conference and working with partners and sponsors who share this ethos also to encourage early career and student participation
